BOARD OF EDUCATION NEWS
At a special Board meeting held last night, August 19th, the Argyle Central School Board of Education decided to fill by appointment the vacant board seat created by the resignation of Deborah Wells. This appointment will end in June 2009, with the remainder of the term being filled by election in May 2009. The cost of a special election coupled with the importance of moving forward with school related issues, in particular the budget process, led the Board to pursue this avenue.
The Board has created an application for potential Board candidates to complete which will be in the District Clerk's Office. Anyone wishing to be considered for the Board position must fill out the application and file it with the District Clerk (Ronald Black) by 12:00 noon on Friday, August 29th. The Board will then interview the potential candidates on September 2nd at 6:00 p.m. at the school. The offical appointment is scheduled to take place at the regular scheduled Board meeting on Thursday, September 11th.
