Juniors Recognized at Awards Ceremony

Argyle, NY – Members of the Class of 2018 were awarded college-based scholarships. They were recognized at the June Awards Assembly at Argyle Central School.

Christopher Reynolds received the Bausch and Lomb Science Award from the University of Rochester. This award is given to a junior who has shown outstanding academic achievement in three years of science. Christopher is the son of Daniel and Melissa Reynolds.

Christopher Reynolds alsoreceived the RPI Medal Scholarship.  This award is given to a junior who shows outstanding achievement in the areas of math, science, and extracurricular involvement.

Cheyanne Stunger and Christopher Reynolds received the Computing Medal Scholarships.  This award is given to a one junior male and one junior female who have distinguished themselves academically, are active and involved members of their school and community and demonstrate interest and ability in computing. 

Cheyanne Stunger also received the Clarkson Leadership Award. This award is given to a student who demonstrates outstanding leadership qualities and is actively involved in the school and community.  Cheyanne is the daughter of Walter and Laurie Stunger.

Cheyanne Stunger alsoreceived the Xerox Award for Innovation and Information Technology.  This award is given to a junior who has a strong interest in innovation and/or information technology and a high level of achievement in this area. 

Cheyanne Stunger and Derek Sherrange received the St. Lawrence/Augsbury North Country Scholarship. This award is given to juniors who demonstrate leadership ability, a strong interest in community service, a genuine desire to pursue a liberal arts degree at St. Lawrence.

Derek Sherrange alsoreceived the Clarkson Achievement Awards. This award is given to a junior who has demonstrated strong academic ability, leadership skills and is actively involved in the school and community. Derek is the son of James and Betty Sherrange.

Eve Carmody received the RIT Creativity and Innovation Award. This award is given to a junior who has shown academic achievement, involvement in school and community and demonstrates outstanding achievement in innovation, creativity or entrepreneurship. Eve is the daughter of John and Maureen Carmody.

Autumn Aubrey received the Frederick Douglass and Susan B. Anthony Award and Scholarship in Humanities and Social Sciences from the University of Rochester. This award is given to a junior who has shown outstanding achievement in the humanities or social sciences, leadership and community service. Autumn is the daughter of Kenneth and Amy Aubrey.

Alicen Simpson received the RIT Creativity and Innovation Award.  This award is given to a junior who has shown academic achievement, involvement in school and community and demonstrate outstanding achievement in innovation, creativity or entrepreneurship. Alicen is the daughter of Robert and Cheryl Simpson.

Alicen Simpson also received the George Eastman Young Leaders Award from the University of Rochester. This award is given to a junior who has strong leadership qualities; extensive involvement in extracurricular activities and has shown outstanding academic achievements.

Samantha Humiston and Grace Lohret received the Wells 21st Century Leadership Award.  This award is given to juniors who embody the spirit, integrity and intellectual qualities of strong leaders. Samantha is the daughter of Bryan and Nicole Humiston. Grace is the daughter of Matthew and Karen Lohret. 

Jaclyn Steidle and Esther Jenks eachreceived the Student Sage Scholarship. This award was created to recognize the characteristics of academic excellence and community involvement.  Jaclyn is the daughter of Raymond and Colleen Steidle. Esther is the daughter of Raymond and Jolene Jenks.
