Middle School English is a holistic approach to Language Arts. Short stories, poetry, novels, and nonfiction pieces will be analyzed throughout the year. In addition, students will be practicing the writing process by producing a variety of writing pieces. |
AIS English focuses on reading and writing skills necessary for success in all subject areas. Argyle Central School standards, along with national and state standards, require all students to master a set of reading objectives, with an emphasis on these key comprehension areas: main idea, summarizing, inference, cause and effect, point of view, fact and opinion, sequencing, and context clues. AIS aims to master these skills, along with responding in clear and well-organized paragraphs and essays that will go a long way toward the success of any future writing that students will do. |
