Dear Parents and Community Members:

Late afternoon on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, school officials became aware of an alleged threatening statement made by a student at dismissal. The concerning comment was reported to the District’s administration and School Resource Officer, who immediately began an investigation. State Police were also contacted, given the nature of the comments, and have conducted their own investigation. Police notified the District that the student had no access to weapons, there was no indication that they had a plan to follow through on the threat, and there was no credible threat to the District. The School is open and operating under normal operations but the District will remain vigilant to protect the health and safety of all students and staff.

As we do in any such situation, we will continue to work closely with our Special Patrol Officer, other law enforcement agencies, and our staff to ensure that our school is safe as possible. Once again, we ask your help in reminding your children that if they see, hear, or are made aware of any such security threat to our students, staff, or schools, they should immediately report this to an adult.
