It’s no secret that Ciarra Millington, a Junior at Argyle Central School, is a talented student-artist. Just take one quick look around the district art studio and see her name on the corner of countless paintings, projects, and photos. That’s why it comes as no surprise that her art was accepted into the 2019 Hyde Collection's Annual Juried High School Show. Her piece, an intricate ceramic pot, was selected from over 1,000 art pieces as one of the finalists to be included in the show. The Hyde Collection’s annual exhibition celebrates the talent and creativity of the region’s young artists. Students from schools in Warren, Washington, Saratoga, Hamilton, and Essex counties submit their work to be reviewed and selected by a jury composed of local art professionals.

When asked why she loves being an artist, Ciarra explained, “It’s an escape from the real world, working with my hands, especially when doing ceramics.” Her selected piece took the student artist over two months to complete. “I was able to focus on every tiny detail. It’s time consuming, but it’s my passion.”

Ciarra’s artwork, as well as the other student finalist’s work will be on display at the Hyde museum from May 4, 2019, through June 2, 2019.
