The Argyle Scots Continue To Celebrate Snow Days

The Argyle Scots Continue To Celebrate Snow Days
Posted on 11/24/2020

The NYS Education Department has established a one-year pilot program that enables school districts to use remote instruction on what would otherwise be a day of school closure due to a snow emergency.

While this is a wonderful option for many school districts, the Argyle Central School District will choose to celebrate traditional snow days, especially during this very untraditional school year.

We strongly encourage all our students and staff to continue the pre-snow day rituals of spoons underneath the pillows and pajamas turned inside out, all with the hopes of waking up to the gift of a much-needed day of play and rest.

We want our Scots to sled the hills of Argyle, breathe in the fresh winter air, help mom and dad shovel the driveway, and warm up at home with some hot cocoa (and please don’t forget the marshmallows!)

But be aware that our faculty and staff will miss you on these days off, so please share photos with us so we can see how you creatively embrace an #ArgyleScotSnowDay.

Should we use up all of our allotted snow days, and we are unable to safely open school because of snow, we will transition to remote instruction on those days (the district will notify you if we get to that point).

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the district directly.
