Dear ACS Families,

I hope this message finds you and your family doing well as we enter the spring season. Our students continue to work hard, and there is much to celebrate here at ACS Elementary!

Student Accomplishments

-Our 3-6 grade Battle of the Books Teams competed on March 11 at SUNY Adirondack. All of our students put in an awesome effort and worked hard to share their knowledge of literature. We are proud of our young SCOTS! Congratulations to all the students who participated!

-The school play "High School Musical Jr." was a huge success. Our talented students did a fantastic job with their performances.

-On March 22, we held our Academic Awards Assembly for students in grades 3-6. Students were recognized for high achievement in English Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Twenty-five students in grade 6 made the Honor and High Honor Roll. We also recognized students for putting in 110%. I want to commend our students for their outstanding academic achievements.

Character Word of the Month

Our character word for April is "Care and Compassion." We will discuss the importance of caring for one another and showing compassion for others. Developing our character education traits helps us build kindness, patience, and responsibility. We share our SCOTS pride every month at our Elementary Character Education Assemblies.

Worth Mentioning

-Our Kindergarten and first grade celebrated 100 and 120 days of school.

-Grade 2 is planning a pancake party to celebrate making their own syrup.

-Our 3-6 graders participated in Too Good For Drugs. A program offered through The Council for Prevention that helps students make good choices.

Upcoming Activities & Events

-Hudson Headwaters will provide dental services again this spring. More details to follow.

-Spring Conferences will be held on May 13. Teachers will be sending out information soon.

-Kindergarten Round-Up will take place on May 16 and 17.
