On Wednesday, October 30, students in grades 4-12 attended an assembly provided by the Bridge Arts Ensemble. Bridge Arts Ensemble is a non-profit organization of teaching artists that serves
schools in upstate New York. The performers include graduates of
the Juilliard School and Yale School of Music. The five performers
put on a top notch concert featuring music by female composers.
Students in all grade levels enjoyed the show, and were given the
highest praise by the performers for their respectful listening and
participation. The funding for this program was provided by a
grant.
Our administrative team is focusing on improving student
attendance. Developing and maintaining good attendance is one of
the greatest predictors of success, not only at ACS, but in eventual
college and career pathways. We appreciate your support in helping
your students see the importance of regular attendance.
Students in grades 7-12 who have demonstrated excellent
attendance and punctuality have received postcards in the mail.
Those students will be entered in a drawing; two students from each
grade will win a small prize.
Special Patrol Officer Matt Lohret recently gave a presentation on
cybersecurity to seventh graders. This is a part of our yearlong effort to promote positive Digital Citizenship. With the right to use
technology in school comes the responsibility to use it
appropriately and safely.
As we head into the busy holiday season, I’d like to thank you for
your support of ACS, and wish you and your families the happiest of
holidays!
Sincerely,
Susan Passaro, Argyle JR/SR High School Principal
