Our annual Open House will be held on October 18th from 6:30-8:00 p.m. Teachers from grades PreK-12 will be here to meet parents, share information about their courses, and answer any questions you have. Even if you’ve been before, we encourage you to come again. Setting up good communication between home and school is one of the key factors in student success, and Open House is a great way to start that line of communication.

Another way to keep up-to-date with what’s going on at school is to make sure you’re signed up on our parent portal, which allows you to check your child’s grades online. We will have information prepared for you at the Open House if you want to get started with the parent portal. If you check grades and have questions, using email is the most convenient way to contact the teacher(s), as they do not have outside phone lines in their rooms. You may also contact me by phone or email if you have questions at any time about your children. You can go to the school website, www.argylecsd.org, to find email addresses and voicemail extensions for faculty and staff. The school website also has an events calendar, sports schedules, and many helpful links to school and community information.

Please remember to send in a written excuse for your child when he/she returns to school following an absence. If we do not receive an excuse, it will be recorded as unexcused. Unexcused absences can affect students’ eligibility for field trips and other opportunities. Part of helping our students become college and career ready is teaching them the importance of punctuality, dependability, and perseverance. Thank you for your cooperation. By setting up and using these communication tools, we see positive results.
