Geography Bee Competition

Geography Bee Competition
Posted on 12/18/2018

Last week, we held our annual grades 4-8 geography bee. The bee consisted of two representatives from each grade and began with preliminary rounds in their respective classrooms until a winner and a runner-up was chosen.

Grade winners then gathered to compete and were allowed two incorrect answers before they were eligible for elimination. They continued round after round for a total of 8 rounds until the final 2 contestants were reached – Alex Kemnah and Cody Malon.

In the championship round the two contestants were asked three questions in which they needed to respond. The person with the most correct answers was named the winner and Alex answered all three questions correctly, earning him the Geography Bee winning title!

Alex will now be entered into an online test after winter break that will be scored by the National Geobee.  If he is in the top 100, he will then go on to compete at the state level. We wish Alex the best of luck and congratulations for winning the Argyle School Geography Bee!
