Posted on 04/10/2020

Dear Parent, Guardians, and Students,

I hope you are all doing well. I am writing to provide you with additional updates regarding the new extended school closure, regents exams cancellation, and more.

  • As you may have heard, Governor Andrew Cuomo has now extended the statewide school closure to April 29, 2020. Our schools will remain closed during this time to comply with the order and to limit the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus. Students will continue with at-home instruction through April 29 as directed by the state of New York.

  •

  • NYS Regents Examinations: The New York State Board of Regents announced that the Regents exams scheduled for the June 2020 testing window have been cancelled. Additional information and answers to the many questions you may have regarding this can be found on the “COVID-19 Updates & Information” page on our district website.

  •

  • As a reminder, the district’s “Scots Guest Wi-Fi” account is open and available for academic use in the Elementary parking lot. Additional information is posted on the district’s webpage. Free Wi-Fi provided by Adirondack Technical Solutions continues to be available

  •

We understand how difficult this situation has been for our students and for families. We continue to have resources available on our website including child care for essential workers in the community, and links to important mental health resources and contact information.

Please visit the following “Counseling & Community” webpage if you or your child are looking for community resources to cope with stress/anxiety of the current situation.

 Sincerely,

 Michael Healey, Superintendent
