A fun community event happening this September 28, 2019, at Hartford Central School! The Washington County Historical Society is pleased to announce it will be hosting its 6th History Fair It Happened in Washington County: History in Our Own Backyards!

The fair will feature exhibits from many of the Washington County Communities, presentations for adults and children (see the attached flyer). The Hartford Stewarts Shop will be selling food and beverages on-site.

This free event is designed to provide Washington County teachers and school children with the opportunity to learn more about our local history and have fun at the same time! Donations will be accepted to help defray expenses. It promises to be an exciting day. Come and learn about history in your own backyard. For more information and a listing of programs, please visit our website at http://www.wchs-ny.org or call the Wing-Northup House, our headquarters in Fort Edward, Wednesday from 10-4 and Friday from 10-5 at 747-9108, or call me at 854-3102 for more information about the History Fair.

The concert is made possible with funds from the Decentralization Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature and administered by the Lower Adirondack Regional Arts Council. This family friendly event is made possible with the grant is a performance of Adirondack folk music by Dave Ruch which will be at 12:30 p.m.. There will be two cannon firings during the day and there is a special Colonial Games session for children with a make-it-take-it by Jill Coloney at 2:00 p.m.

We encourage you to come and bring your children. We look forward to seeing you all there!
