Argyle Central School Board Intends to Appoint Junior/Senior High School Principal

The Argyle Central School District Board of Education is pleased to announce its intent to appoint Mr. John Galarneau as Junior/Senior High School Principal at a meeting of the Board of Education on May 9, 2023. Mr. Galarneau will officially be joining the administrative team on July 1, 2023.

Thirty-one educators applied to serve as our Junior/Senior High School Principal. Interview committees were composed of a cross section of the Argyle Central School District, including the incoming Superintendent James Bennefield.

Mr. Galarneau is currently the Instructional Supervisor of Physical Education and Health for the City School District of Albany. He has also served as the Secondary Principal in the Fort Edward Union Free School District and an Assistant Principal in the Schenectady City Schools.

Galarneau earned a Bachelor of Science in Education in Physical Education from Castleton University. His Masters in Science was earned at Canisius College and his School Building Leader Certification was earned at the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts.

"I am very excited to be joining the Argyle Central School District. I am looking forward to immersing myself into the community and leading our faculty in supporting our student’s growth and success,” remarked Galarneau.

Galarneau will replace Interim Junior/Senior High School Principal Mark Doody. In his spare time, John likes to spend time with his family outdoors, camping, and coaching basketball.
