Dear Parents and Guardians:
You may have seen recent news reports detailing challenges posted on the social media platform Tik Tok in which students across the country were encouraged to vandalize school bathrooms and post photos of the proof of having done so.
It was brought to the attention of school administrators that additional monthly challenges have been widely publicized to students over social media. These monthly challenges encourage students to participate in a number of various acts that are inappropriate, dangerous, and in some cases, illegal.
We are writing to remind students and their families that any act which violates the Argyle Central School Code of Conduct can result in consequences ranging from in school suspension to long term out of school suspension. Furthermore, any action which is criminal in nature will be reported to the appropriate authorities.
Please, speak with your child(ren) about these inappropriate and dangerous challenges being posted on social media, as well as the potential consequences associated with participating in them.
Please reach out to the school with any questions or concerns. Thank you in advance for your attention to this very important issue.
Sincerely,
Michael Healey
Superintendent
