Did you know?
-Most of the Earth’s oxygen comes from the oceans
-The U.S. generates 4.9 pounds of waste per person per day
-Close to 8 million metric tons of plastic go into the ocean annually
-About a billion people participate in Earth Day
The Argyle School’s Environmental Club celebrated Earth Day this year by picking up branches and removing other debris to beautify our school’s front yard. The club also holds weekly recycling pick-ups around the school’s classrooms and offices.
The week before Earth Day, Taylor Bridger and Eddie Fish, two of our Environmental Club leaders, visited elementary classrooms to share about Earth Day and recycling.
What will you do to honor the earth this year?
