On February 3, 2021, the District learned that an individual in the Elementary School has tested positive for COVID-19. This individual was last in the building on Friday, January 29, and is now in quarantine and will have to recover and be cleared by the Department of Health before returning to school.
We are continuing to work closely with the Washington County Health Department on contact tracing efforts. At this point, all families of students and our faculty/ staff required to quarantine as a result of this positive exposure have been directly contacted by the district. If you or your child were in close proximity to this individual for a certain period of time, the County Department of Health will contact you directly.
With the exception of the students, staff, and faculty required to quarantine as a result of this exposure, the Elementary and Jr/Sr High Schools will remain open for in-person instruction.
The district has performed additional cleaning and disinfection procedures throughout the district and will continue our regular cleaning and disinfection procedures as scheduled.
Please note that The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other privacy laws restrict us from disclosing or confirming any personally identifiable information. We cannot identify anyone who has tested positive.
Please feel free to contact the district if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Michael Healey
Superintendent of Schools
