Argyle CSD Transitions To Remote Instruction: Friday, January 22, 2021

On January 21, 2021, the District learned that an individual in the Jr/Sr High School has tested positive for COVID-19. This individual was last in the building on Thursday, January 14, and is now in quarantine and will have to recover and be cleared by the Department of Health before returning to school.

We are continuing to work closely with the Washington County Health Department on contact tracing efforts. At this point, all students, faculty, and staff required to quarantine as a result of this positive exposure have been directly contacted by the district.  If you or your child were in close proximity to this individual for a certain period of time, the County Department of Health will contact you directly.

As a result of this situation, we will transition to a remote learning model for Friday, January 22, 2021 for all students grades K-12.

Students in grades 5-12 will log into Google Classroom and attend Google Meets at their normally scheduled times.

Elementary students in grades K-4 will refer to their 24-hour work packets and if devices were sent home they should log into their google classrooms and check their student emails. Our elementary remote material pick up day will be on Monday, January 25, 2021.

In working with the Washington County Health Department, our district feels that transitioning to remote instruction on Friday, January 22, provides us with sufficient time to perform additional cleaning and disinfection procedures in the district and prepare for a safe return to in-person learning on Monday, January 25, 2021.

Please note that The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other privacy laws restrict us from disclosing or confirming any personally identifiable information. We cannot identify anyone who has tested positive.

Please feel free to contact the district if you have any questions.  As always, we will inform you if there are any new cases within our district.

Sincerely,

Michael Healey

Superintendent of Schools
