If you are identified as a “close contact” and are:
Fully Vaccinated* and have received a booster or are not eligible for the booster
– No restrictions on attending or working at school
– No restrictions on extra-curricular activities
Fully Vaccinated and eligible to, but have not received the booster
– No restrictions on attending or working at school
– Restricted from participating in extracurricular or afterschool activities for five (5) days from the exposure
Non-Vaccinated Individuals
– Mandatory five (5) day quarantine but eligible to participate in Test to Stay** in order to attend classes
– Restricted from participating in extracurricular or afterschool activities for five (5) days from exposure
** Per NYS DOH, Test To Stay is only available for individuals identified as a close contact of an in-school exposure.
Individuals who test positive for COVID-19 will be required to isolate for a minimum of five (5) days, regardless of vaccination status. If symptoms are resolving after five (5) days, the individual may be allowed to attend or work at school. If symptoms persist, further isolation will be required.
*Fully Vaccinated = Two weeks after the receipt of either two doses of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or one dose of Johnson and Johnson vaccine or full course of any other recognized vaccine (NYSDOH memo issued January 10, 2022)

Effective January 8, 2022
LAUNCH OF THE COUNTY'S COVID-19 "AT HOME" POSITIVE TEST PORTAL
On Saturday, January 8, 2022, Washington County Public Health began accepting online reports from those testing positive for COVID-19 on an "At Home" Rapid Antigen test that has received the Emergency Use Authorization from the FDA.
Washington County residents who receive a COVID-19 positive test result on an "At Home" Rapid Antigen Test will report their information on the county's HIPAA compliant web portal and attest to the information provided as well as agree to the instruction to isolate in accordance with the NYSDOH - New York State Health Department Guidelines for Isolation and Quarantine.

Effective January 12, 2022
Washington County Public Health will only require students not wearing masks correctly or consistently on district transportation who are exposed to a COVID positive individual on the bus to quarantine. This only applies to regular transportation to and from school (not transportation related to extracurricular activities or long-range trips).
